Interview
At this year’s Connected Britain conference, we caught up with Eric Joyce, Director of Technology and Solutions, EMEA at Adtran, to discuss the biggest trends in the telecoms industry, from the UK altnets’ growing interest in 50G PON to the path towards autonomous networks.
Joyce explores how telcos’ relationship with data is becoming increasingly sophisticated, with AI and real-time insights allowing for faster and more accurate network management.
“We’ve got the data, we’ve got the insights, so the next step is to use these to solve problems – either automatically or by making sure the right people know what’s happening and how to fix it very quickly,” Joyce explains.
